Amie Thomas
LMHC, CTS, QS, ADHD-CCSP
Amie Thomas, LMHC, CTS, QS, ADHD-CCSP is the Owner, CEO, and Clinical Director of AIM Counseling, Wellness & Consulting. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Certified Trauma and Loss Specialist, and a Qualified Supervisor. Additionally, she is a member of the Advisory Council for the Department of Counseling at FGCU.
With 18 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in various mental health settings, Amie has developed an effective treatment model that addresses a range of challenges including anxiety, mood disorders, attention deficits, trauma and loss, learning disabilities, life adjustment difficulties, and relationship problems.
Her therapeutic approach is focused on building upon an individual’s strengths, increasing self-awareness, providing psychoeducation, teaching emotional regulation skills, and fostering personal responsibility to help individuals become more resilient in the face of adversity. Amie is proficient in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, as well as other interventions that are tailored to meet the unique needs of her clients. She is also an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP).
Leadership & Community
AIM Counseling, Wellness & Consulting has a team of Master Level Student Interns, Registered Interns, and Licensed Professionals. Amie provides Clinical Supervision, Professional Development Consultation, and Practice Development Consultation for AIM interns, employees, and affiliate licensed providers. AIM also partners with organizations such as Sunlight Home and Naples Players to offer mental health education to the community.
